Off Topic Tuesday Topics

Okay, I admit I love photographs.  I love to take pictures, I love to look at pictures, I love the story that a photograph can tell.

But I’m not an Instagram user.

Sure, I have it. I’ve used it, even.  I think I have three pictures of my dog.  But it’s just not the format I enjoy.  To be honest, I never even think about it.  Plus the majority of my requests to follow are from kids aged 10-15, those I work with at church, so it’s not something vastly entertaining for me, with selfies every six seconds.

So instead of my four favorite Instagram peeps, I instead am giving you four peeps that I read daily (or as often as they post)!  Yay for blogging???Life.Love.Lauren

1.  John and Sherry Petersik.  I know I’ve mentioned them before, but their home adventures in DIY, child rearing, and life in general can be found at www.younghouselove.com.  Love them because they seem to keep it real, and they are from my ‘hood.  Like three doors down from where I babysat three nights a week as a kid.  Just bought a new house, so it’s fun to read along. Starting to feel like a fall social!

This week is the first time that I’ve woken up in the morning and felt that there was a bit of crispness in the air.  Fall is coming, people!  It may get up to over 90 degrees during the day, but the nights?  Well, the nights are glorious.  To celebrate, here is a bit of a fall social!

Sunday Social This Weeks Questions:

1. What is your favorite fall activity?
Oddly enough, pretty dang similar to one of my favorite summer activities.  Sitting in the hammock reading a book.  Only add an afghan and subtract a multitude of mosquitoes.  Continue reading

Inspiration can come from anywhere

It’s really hard to type blog posts on a train with spotty wifi connections.  I’m just sayin’.  Not to mention that I thought it was six things from each color last week–so six red, six orange, etc.  And trying to type that on a spotty wifi connection and rickety railroad tracks was not going my way.  So I gave up.  Too much of a headache to try to keep up.  But this week I love the topic!  We’re down to five things:

Labor Day Listicle

For some reason, even though I know the calendar says otherwise, I don’t feel like we’ve reached the end of the summer.  Maybe it’s because I don’t have kids and am not gearing up for school?  Maybe it’s because every day in summer has been just like every day in spring?  At a certain point, the days all flow together, you know . . . .

Regardless, today’s Listicle is about saying farewell to summer.  So I bring you:

10 THINGS I WILL REMEMBER THIS SUMMER BY

  1. Turning 40 and gaining a niece on the same day. Continue reading

Holiday Sociable

I have started to answer the Sunday social I can’t tell you how many times–and I’ve not finished.  Either I lost wifi on the train, or I was working insane hours, or life just got in the way.  But I”m determined to try and keep up now!

Next Weeks Questions:

1. What was your favorite trip/vacation/activity this summer?
This summer was a blur of work and commitments.  VBS was awesome, but I’m going to cheat and go back to my birthday-and the birth day of my latest niece.

2. What was your favorite outfit look/clothing item of the summer?
Once we get to about 85 degrees outside, I switch from black pants everyday to a maxi skirt every day.

3. What is one thing you wish you’d gotten to do this summer?
This is the first year in I can’t remember how long that didn’t include a trip to a local theme park.  But I’m still a beach girl–I miss the waves and the sand.

4. What was your favorite song of the summer?
I got hooked on Kevin Max with Audio Adrenaline singing Kings and Queens.

5. What was your favorite movie/tv show of the summer?
It barely counts as summer, but for movie it would be star Trek: Into Darkness.  TV Show?  I have a harder time with that one because I love Summer TV: Royal Pains, Covert Affairs, Suits, and NEWSROOM!!!!!
